Peaceful campaign for UK Turban Rights

Sant Baba Puran Singh Ji endorsed and led a peaceful campaign of some 50,000 people pertaining to the ‘Turban Case’, (Mandla Vs. Lee) where Gurinder Singh Mandla had been banned from wearing his turban to school. A petition handed to 10 Downing Street led to the Law Lords ruling protecting Sikh rights of identity under British Law (the Race Relations Act) in March 1982.
